My name is Lauren Greyhawk Maestas-Chavez. I am from the Pueblo of Ohkay Owingeh. I am 16 years old and attend the Santa Fe Indian School as a Junior. I am honored to be a part of the Bali Art Project and look forward to experiencing the new cultures and arts. As an indigenous individual, culture is an important aspect that paves the path for life. Sharing my culture and exploring that of others will be most pleasant. It will be an amazing experience in which I, as well as the other five students, will be blessed to be a part of.

My name is Franki Maestas-Chavez and I am from Ohkay Owingeh. I am so excited about participating in the Bali Art Project because not only am I learning about a new culture and their way of life, I am also being able to travel out of the country and not many people are able to do that. Having the opportunity to be able to learn and take in all the knowledge Bali has to offer us is such an honor.

My name is Kiera Mermejo-Varga, a 16 year old girl, and both a tribal member and resident of Picuris Pueblo, in northern New Mexico. Currently, I am a junior at Santa Fe Indian School, and have always been interested in learning about other Indigenous people around the world. The Bali Art Project is an amazing opportunity for me to experience the Balinese community, and learn about their culture. I hope to make personal connections with the indigenous people in Bali and create bonds of friendship.
